Retrospective Reflection on Building Sustaining Character

Character is defined as the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. One’s character defines his personality, nature, mentality, qualities, traits, spirit, identity, feelings etc. Character is what defines you as a person.

Most of the times character and reputation are used interchangeably but it is not supposed to be like that because reputation is what people think of you based on how you portray yourself to them while character is who you really are.

When someone is said to be courageous and at some point runs away from a situation, people will wonder and say, “that is not the way we know him”. And some would not believe that he backed off from a situation because according to them, that is his not character that defines that particular person in such circumstances.

As Christians, our character matters a lot. If we are to have an impact on the society, we need to be exemplary and without questionable character. Without having a Godly character, we cannot enter heaven and we cannot advance the great commission.
